This is one of my families that I look forward to seeing every year. I have been capturing them for years, but have known them way before I ever started taking pictures.
I love that they are genuine, crazy, love-able and silly.
I love that they let me pretty much do whatever I want. I pick the place, run around like a crazy woman and laugh when boys are being, well, boys :)
They are a constant for me and I sometimes don't know that I express how much I appreciate that to them.
Photographers are everywhere, yet they come to me each and every year.
I am grateful.
I live about an hour away from them, so this year instead of them coming to me I chose to come to them. I jumped on the internet and started searching for local places that had some character that would fit. I took a leap of faith and told them to meet me here.
As soon as we arrived I headed for the old stables and immediately the boys start asking to see the horses.
" Mrs. Noreen where are the horses?"
" Mrs. Noreen can we go find the horses?"
So after much guidance and promises we agreed to get the shoot over with so we could find ourselves some horses.
Needless to say a promise is a promise and although I was beginning to think I was going to have to get on the phone to find a horse, a horse arrived, and I was Oh So Grateful.
I'm not a photographer that sets a time limit. I don't usually book one session after another. I LOVE capturing real moments.
I am grateful I am one of those photographers, had I not been I would have missed the last pictures in this blog. The genuine smile of two boys who had never been on a horse before.
Or the hugs that followed in the end before they left.
Those are what make me the photographer I am. And I am happy with that.
