Do you ever feel like people are brought into your path here on earth for a reason?
Do you ever question doing something nice for someone, or do you just do it with out even thinking about it?
Jake needed one picture for the school yearbook.
Yep one. I can almost hear you laughing out loud if you know me or follow my work. Noreen take ONE picture....Ha no way :) I mean really look how handsome he is!
When others quoted them a full session fee I quoted them for a single digital image. I'm pretty sure I didn't even pause when I said it. I knew this was something I was supposed to do. I knew this was something I wanted to do.
And I am so very glad I did.
I met Jake one cold afternoon at my family's farm in Ashland City. I was SO excited when this sweet boy stepped out of the vehicle with his guitar....and his amazing smile.
At that moment I am pretty sure I told him he was taking more than one picture :)
As we were walking down the country road I asked Jake if he would mind playing something on his guitar. I was ahead of him walking down the path, he and his mom and sister were behind me when he started to play.
I felt my eyes fill with tears.
Was I really crying at this session? Oh good Lord these people are going to think I am crazy!!
The song that came from Jake's guitar was a familiar sound.
It was the song that my nephew Davie played in the hospital room in Colorado when we made the excruciating decision to remove my other nephew Shaun from life support.
It has become one of my favorite acoustic songs and it holds a very special place in my heart.
And this handsome Senior was playing it.
And I was crying.
I believe with all my being that God places people in our paths for a reason.
I believe in doing things just because you want to .Because it's the right thing to do.
Although I probably scared these poor people ( and they may feel like I am slightly crazy) I feel blessed to have been given the opportunity to meet them and take that one picture that will be displayed in the yearbook.
Thank you Jake for being such a good sport on such a cold day. Thank you for letting me take more than just one.
