The definition of coincidence: A remarkable concurrence of events or circumstances without apparent causal connection.
Some say it's God's way of remaining anonymous
A biblical definition is said to be what occurs together by God’s providential arrangement of circumstances
I have often wondered if my clients are sent to me for a reason, or if its just a coincidence that some of the things happen during our time together.
A few months ago I was contacted about doing a Senior session. It wasn't arranged by the mom or the student. It was arranged by a family member who wanted to do something special for someone.
Those emails are always the best :)
After setting up the date I sent over a list of questions to help me get to know her. This beautiful senior loved horses, but since the passing of her grandfather had not been around them in some time.
I knew I had to find a horse for the session.
So I reached out to a family member who then put me in touch with a man just outside of Pleasant View. He graciously invited us into his home and let us spend time with his beautiful horse. I remember driving away thinking to myself that there are still good, decent people in the world that will help you just because they want to and not because they will get anything out of it. It was the best feeling, and one I would not forget easily.
I bet your wondering why I am bringing this up months later.
Well that kind, decent man was our speaker at church on Sunday.
As he began talking I thought to myself, man this guy looks familiar. Then I quickly realized he was the farm guy. He was the guy that reminded me there are good people in the world.
He stood up and shared his life story with us. The good and the bad. It was humbling and eye opening. For the first time it made me think that had I known his life story before going to his house for that session would I have judged him. Thought differently of him. Not wanted to go.
And had I done that I would have missed out on meeting a wonderful man who reminded me there is good in this world.
After church I went up to him and he immediately remember me. Your the photographer. I shook his hand and told him what a blessing that day was for me. He said, well it was a blessing for me as well. There was a lot of love and emotion shown that day that I will never forget.
I am ever so grateful for this journey. For the clients that come into my life that teach me something about myself and make me a better person.
