The other night I surprised my son at his baseball game. While I was waiting for the game to start I felt this tap on my shoulder. I couldn't believe it, one of my clients son's noticed that I was at the ball field and came up to give me a hug and tell me hi. A boy, a young almost teen boy had come to tell me, his photographer hello. I can't even begin to tell you how much that made my heart smile.
I always knew that I looked at photography differently than some photographers, but it's moments like that when I realize just how personal this hobby is for me. Families let me, a complete stranger into their lives. They sometimes share personal stories, special moments or struggles with me . I can honestly say that I enjoy getting to know each and every person that books a session with me, and I always leave the session looking forward to the next time I will see them.
I often have clients snap a "behind the scenes" picture of me doing my thing :) Although I so worry I look crazy I love that they get so excited at a session with me that they take pictures to share with others.
At the end of the day I feel so blessed to have this gift and I can't even being to thank everyone who believes in me and trusts me with there memories. Thank you for not only loving what I do but loving me as a person.
So while some photographers are trying to be like another photographer, or trying to make it big, I am tickled pink to be little ole me in small town Tennessee :)
