It's a new year! New clients and sessions and memories are about to happen at NNP. I often hear from past clients that they were afraid to book hair and makeup for their session because they didn't want their daughter to look different. To look fake.
I am SO excited to have been chosen as one of the 50 photographers to take part in the Senior Beauty Revived Campaign 50 Most Beautiful Seniors.
Now the fun begins as I chose my Senior for this campaign!
Who doesn't love a pretty girl who also loves to hunt and fish! Kendel is one of a kind and I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to meet her and capture this big moment in her life! Excited to see what the future has in store for her as she heads to Western Kentucky University this fall.
Meet Sasha my very first senior from Metro Christian Academy! I am SO excited to share with you a little about this amazing young lady and our sessions together!
Meet my gorgeous, sweet, adorable and funny 2016 Senior from JPII Julie!
I have known Julie and her family for a few years now. When I say that Julie is probably one of the sweetest girls I have ever met I am totally not telling a lie. She has one of the kindest souls I have ever known. She has this way of making you feel right at home, like you have been friends forever and you just want to grab a coffee and chat for hours.
If there is one thing I can say about my family is that we are close even though we live miles apart from each other. So when I flew home for a wedding in Colorado I couldn't say no to capturing Ashley's senior pictures :)
I grew up in a small town in Colorado called Montrose. I moved there when I was 4 years old so my dad could follow his dream of being a farmer. We had a McDonald's, Wendy's and Taco Bell, cruised the main drag every Friday night and met up with friends for bon fires in the boonies :)
My goal before I ever took one single picture at this session was to show my niece just how beautiful she really is. I wanted her to see what I see in her and what so many people see when they look at her.
Oh my word Jennifer.......this session was out of this world!
Everyone meet Jennifer, my awesome 2015 Senior from Springfield High School. I have known Jennifer's mom for years, so when she called me and wanted to set up her Senior pictures I was stoked.
Then I heard she races cars....and I was even more stoked :)
Fierce. Loyal. Determined
Those are the words I read when I opened up Morgans questionnaire I sent her.
At that moment I knew I had scored big time when she chose ME to capture her senior pictures.
I met Emily last year when her mom set up a session for family pictures. Needless to say I was thrilled when her mom emailed me again and asked if I would take her senior pictures.
Blonde hair, blue eyes, a beautiful soul and super smart. My goodness what a combination!!
Let me just start by saying I really adore this girl. I have been attending the same church as Sarah for many years, and although we don't hang out I occasionally see her at functions, hear her beautiful voice sing, and see her interact with the youth.
This session was SO amazing and I am so excited to share it with all of you!!! First let me start by saying Mackenzie's Aunt rocks!! She booked this session for Mackenzie, took her out for a day of shopping and drove her hours just to have me capture her big senior moment. We even shed a few tears together at the end of the session. Yeah she kinda rocks :)
I am so excited to share this amazing Senior session with you! Meet Madelynn, my funny, beautiful, sweet country girl from Cedar Hill, Tennessee
I have been waiting months to blog about this gorgeous Senior!! Meet Abbey my amazing Senior from Lawrence County High School.
Do you ever feel like people are brought into your path here on earth for a reason?
Do you ever question doing something nice for someone, or do you just do it with out even thinking about it?
Jake needed one picture for the school yearbook.
Oh another beautiful Senior . I have been asked several times where I find all my beautiful models, hey the girls are just that darn cute here in Tennessee :)
Look at those BeaUtiful brown EYES and gorgeous hair!!! Let me just say when this sweet girl hopped out of her vehicle I could feel her energy and excitement.
Oh my oh my Makayla where do I even begin with this post on our session together. I mean really people look at that face :)
I met Raina last year when her mom booked a session for her and her little sitter. I remember when she arrived and stepped out of her moms vehicle, I felt like I had won the lottery.
This boy is pretty darn awesome. I believe he may be the only guy teenager I have ever photographed that actually likes having his pictures made, by me of course :)
Alright ladies get ready to meet handsome Dillan. My little bit of Country, little bit of City Boy who has the most amazing smile :)
The minute Elizabeth stepped out of her truck I noticed her amazing brown eyes, they were absolutely beautiful and I was drawn to them.
Oh my goodness another gorgeous Senior girl has blessed my camera! In the short amount of time I spent with Micaela I could tell she was funny and sweet and kind, all amazing qualities to have as your enter the big world after High School.
I Loooove me some Senior sessions. I know I have said that before but I really mean it. Seniors are so happy and excited to finally be finishing school, and they are always so kind and sweet.
Another beautiful Southern Girl...another beautiful Senior girl from Sycamore High School class of 2013.
Another beautiful Senior girl... Another beautiful Senior girl with Blonde hair and Blue eyes that are to DIE for.
I LOVE living in Tennessee!!! I am not going to lie, I have the most beautiful Southern brides you have ever seen :) They are not only stunningly beautiful but they have a heart of gold. Which makes for a wonderful wedding day!
When I get a bride that wants to do a bridal session my heart gets a tad bit happy! It's not only a great opportunity for you to do a trail run on your dress, hair and makeup but it's a time to just have a moment for you.
Ahhh these two!!!
I LOVE that sweet little Mckenzie's messages to me always start with " Hey beautiful" and end with a large amount of emoji's. I seriously love her for that!
I remember when we looked at this house, Trey ran right outside and climbed the tree in the backyard and I knew it was the house to raise my family in. Now we are creating a beautiful wedding for him and Morgan in that same back yard.
So as a wedding photography October usually ends up being a busy month for weddings, so I typically book up almost a year in advance. I remember looking at my calendar in September thinking that is was so odd that I still had a weekend left in October that didn't have a wedding booked
There. Are. No. Words. For. These.
So I will let you just dive right on and see....
Alisha you are SO beautiful and remind me of a porcelain doll.
Goodness you all are in for a treat!
Old souls, that is how I would describe Alisha and Matt.
I love that they have there own unique style that is "them" Most importantly I am glad they picked me to document this once in a lifetime day.
These two....my goodness I adore them. I also adore the beautiful family they have created.
This man right here absolutely adores his beautiful bride. I could tell from the moment we started taking the engagement pictures that he was a keeper and also that we were going to get along just fine :)
If there was ever a couple that screams Southern here they are! I remember opening up the email that Hailey sent me inquiring about her wedding day. It was filled with exclamation points and this overwhelming feeling of excitement. I knew before ever meeting them that I had to capture their wedding.
The cold weather is moving out and it's the first day of Spring...yippie...happy dance... :)
It is also the beginning of wedding season.
I often wonder when I receive an email requesting my package prices, what makes that bride choose me or not choose me. What's important to a bride and groom, money, style, connecting with the photographer? Maybe all the above?
Oh my word I'm not even sure where to begin with this post about this wedding. Let me just say this family is just precious and I am so thrilled I was able to be the one to capture the big day.
Where do I even begin to with this amazing couple and this wedding! I guess I will start by saying these two are just so adorable together and then honestly and truly love each other SO much.
I remember when Alicia was a baby, she would climb up in my lap and give me the best hugs. I was the Aunt that made the best salads, and I loved that little girl like my own. I moved away from home when I turned 21 and now live what feels like another country away.
Meet Courtney and Marcus now Mr. and Mrs. Adams. A country setting complete with a Barn, Cowboy Boots and a very large wedding party~
I was so blessed to meet Kelsey and Chad. I was looking for an amazing couple to take engagement pictures of, and I thank my lucky stars for my friend that sent these two my way. When I say these two are the sweetest couple ever I am totally not exaggerating. They have the sweetest souls and honestly I can feel how much they adore each other every time I am around them.
I met Cara a few years ago when she became one of my babysitters. Such a beautiful girl inside and out. Cara graduated from college last year and I was blessed to be her photographer and capture her big college graduation pictures. Cara's dad, an amazing man who blessed with some amazing words about my photography that I will honestly never forget suddenly passed away this year.
When I get a bride that wants to do a bridal session my heart gets a tad bit happy! It's not only a great opportunity for you to do a trail run on your dress, hair and makeup but it's a time to just have a moment for you.
There. Are. No. Words. For. These.
So I will let you just dive right on and see....
Alisha you are SO beautiful and remind me of a porcelain doll.
Goodness you all are in for a treat!
Gah this is one gorgeous girl...and she happens to now be married to my one of my coworkers.
A country girl with a beautiful smile and an amazing heart , what more could a man ask for more. This girl has this smile that lights up a room, and the sweetest Southern accent you will ever hear!
I met Taylor last year when she inquired about setting up a family session during Christmas time. We set the date and I arrived to meet them at their family farm and property. They stepped out the house with the most adorable little girl and I was hooked! I seriously LOVE little kids and especially cute, adorable little girls :)
Oh my gosh when you scroll through this session you are going to see just how much fun these two little gems are together!!! Tori and James are SO adorable and they kept me laughing the entire time we were shooting. It's so funny how you can chat with someone over email and then meet them in person and feel like you have known them forever.
I LOVE a bride that knows what she wants. I equally love a bride that does a lot of research to find the perfect fit for her big day. And as you know I can't seem to get enough of two people in love, so I can for sure say we are a match made in heaven :)
Ahhh these two!!!
I LOVE that sweet little Mckenzie's messages to me always start with " Hey beautiful" and end with a large amount of emoji's. I seriously love her for that!
So as a wedding photography October usually ends up being a busy month for weddings, so I typically book up almost a year in advance. I remember looking at my calendar in September thinking that is was so odd that I still had a weekend left in October that didn't have a wedding booked
So when I get a request to book a wedding there is always one thing that I always say first...
You Must Be Totally IN LOVE With Each Other
Not, Oh I love you, but like Oh my goodness I can't keep my hands off of you :)
Another beautiful Engagement Session
Another sweet couple that will be saying " I do" this year
Meet Alisha and Matt my bride and groom to be for 2014
Oh boy have I been blessed with the SWEETEST couples this year! Wait until you see these cuties :)
If you have ever wondered what a sweet Southern couple looks like, well look no further.
Meet Hailey and Brent
I absolutely LOVE couples that are just smitten with eachother :) I also love when they stumble across my work and choose ME to capture not only their engagement session but one of the most important days in their life....Their Wedding.
This session gives me goosebumps every time I look at it. I bet your wondering why. Well let me tell you, there is nothing better than having clients that truly love each other, adore each other and want to be together. That is my perfect client and I'm not afraid to say that :)
Oh boy a man in a uniform....Yep you can't be human or American and not just want to scream for joy, say thank you and yes if your a female think any man that wears it looks very handsome.
met Kayla a few months ago when she was the maid of honor at the wedding I was shooting. I instantly fell in love with her daughter, who tagged along side of me at the wedding and even took a picture of me hard at work. I was thrilled when she called and said they were getting married! his family is just a joy to be around, and I love that they already have this perfect little family.
Love should be easy...
Love should come naturally, it should be fun and exciting and comfortable.
The person you decide to spend the rest of your life with should be all those things, they should equal you out, make you a better person, make you smile.
If there is one thing I can't say no to, it's a friend or past client who has a newborn bundle of joy. The Norman family is really special to me, so when I found out that they didn't have anyone in mind to capture this big moment for them I offered up my studio.
I am so honored and super excited to share with you the Matthew's family. I have been trying to get them in front of my camera for years, so when they finally agreed I was OVER the moon with excitement :)
I have been through many milestones with the Mobley's. When they first met, then an Engagement session and the Announcement that a sweet baby girl was on the way.
Ok Trey, yeah he is heart breaker.....
I had no idea how adorable this family was when I booked their session. I usually send a few emails back and forth, we talk packages and price, pick a day and usually I ask if they have a location in mind.
Love me some Elizabeth and Kevin! These are my sweet friends that I absolutely adore and honestly don't see enough of.
I have two boys that are now 12 and 14. I remember spending days creating the perfect room for them when they were little. Austin had a railroad themed room and Logan had a jungle room complete with a huge tree mural. Lots of work but totally worth it when they would run in their room and play for hours.
So most of you know if you follow me that I not only take pictures but I also work at Vanderbilt LifeFlight. Well Christopher works there with me.... he is an awesome flight nurse :)
This is one of my families that I look forward to seeing every year. I have been capturing them for years, but have known them way before I ever started taking pictures.
I love that they are genuine, crazy, love-able and silly.
This little lady right hear has become not only my client but my friend. Melanie has been with me from the very beginning of my photography journey.
Oh yes don't worry you have seen this couple before :)

I will occasionally give away a free session for charity or fundraisers. Well last year I was approached by a good friend to donate a session for the local High School Baseball team. Well when it comes to kids and a local school I usually can't resist :)
This family is so near and dear to me. I have known the Graves family for years. I have known them way before any of us had children, before marriages and before moving to Nashville.
Oh sweet baby Cal...you are already loved and you haven't even been born yet! And let me just tell you sweet boy you hit the lottery when you God picked your parents. I'm not kidding, you are going to LOVE them!
“Anyone who ever wondered how much they could love a child who did not spring from their own loins, know this: it is the same. The feeling of love is so profound, it's incredible and surprising.”
I have know this beautiful and amazing family for years. They are funny and silly, full of energy and sweet, the makings of a great family :)
Meet this amazing now 13 year old beauty Sarah. First before I say anything else about this session, when Sarah pulled up to the session with her mom her first words were " Wow she isn't old she is young" Yep she said that about Me~
I met the Johnson family last year when I was just starting out my photography journey. I remember Tiffany calling me and asking me if I would take on a family of 9 and I smiled BIG and was so excited.
Oh boy where do I even begin with this post. I guess I can start with I am SO STINKING excited about this adorable couple and soon to be baby Jones!
Sometimes I get emails from potential clients and I never see them before the session. . We email back and forth and sometimes send a text or two, but rarely do we meet before.
I met Karen a few years ago when she lived a few doors down from me in our neighborhood. Her boys quickly hit it off with my boys and what seems like overnight these kiddos become part of our family.
Meeting Melanie has been a true blessing. Not only for me personally, but for photography business. This family truly is amazing and I am so thrilled to share them with all of you.
This is one of the those stories and families that you are going to LOVE to read about. I have known the Morris Family for several years now.
Meet Taylor. Taylor is an 8th grader at Coopertown Middle School and is a Boy Scout with the Pleasant View Pack. Help me in Congratulating Taylor Hamilton on earning the rank of Eagle Scout.
Oh the Hornbuckles...what can I say about this family. Well first we are usually on the opposite side during baseball season, yet we find the time to cheer both of our boys on. They love basketball and baseball and have the cutest boys ever!
Life is an Adventure...
Life is Full of Love....
Life can Be Sorrowful...
And then sometimes when you least expect it your Life changes.
I grew up in a small town called Montrose, Colorado. Back then ( many many years ago) it was a small town with a few stop lights, a McDonald's and Taco Bell. My daddy moved my family there when I was just 4 years old, and this past Christmas I loaded my family up and headed on a plane to visit them for Christmas.
I LOVE giving back to my community and I LOVE finding campaigns that celebrate our youth and showing them that beauty is not only on the outside but on the inside as well. That you can go through anything in life and come out on top and a better person. That each situation we are given does not define us.
I am SO excited to have been chosen as one of the 50 photographers to take part in the Senior Beauty Revived Campaign 50 Most Beautiful Seniors.
Now the fun begins as I chose my Senior for this campaign!
My baby boy. I remember the day you were born, I remember your first tooth, your first words and when you started to walk. I remember when that straight hair turned curly and how you always seem to make me laugh not matter what the occasion. You seriously are like my therapy when I have had a bad day and just need to laugh. And I so love you for that.
I have always believed that my life is not really my life. There is a bigger power, one that guides me, teaches me and gifts me with this amazing life.
I am so lucky to have been gifted this amazing job as a photographer. I not only meet the most amazing clients but I have more quality time at home with my boys and husband.
There's this little place in Pleasant View that I absolutely LOVE. I randomly drive through the area once or twice a month...ok maybe more :)
To dream.
I am so honored and super excited to share with you the Matthew's family. I have been trying to get them in front of my camera for years, so when they finally agreed I was OVER the moon with excitement :)
The definition of coincidence: A remarkable concurrence of events or circumstances without apparent causal connection.
I have managed my photography business and my full time job at Vanderbilt for several years.
In 1995 I was in my twenties and I remember seeing the Oklahoma City bombing happen on TV. At that moment I knew I wanted to be able to help people and make a difference in the medical field. In 1997 I passed my EMT class and started working in dispatch, and I loved it.
For the past 12 years I have been blessed to work for Vanderbilt LifeFlight as a Flight Coordinator, and for the past 3 years I have been blessed to be a photographer.
I am really not sure how this blog is going to go, but I know I want to write it from my heart. Sometimes I am not the best with my words.

Austin had a railroad themed room and Logan had a jungle room complete with a huge tree mural. Lots of work but totally worth it when they would run in their room and play for hours.
Do you ever have those days that you just don't feel like getting out of bed.
Or feel like a giant elephant is sitting on your shoulders.
I believe that God moves me where I need to be. Not always on my pace or on my timeline, but he knows what I need when I need it.
Warning....I will be posting quite a few pictures on this blog :) I mean really, how can I not look at that face!!
So I met Sophie in November when I attended the Blink Conference in Nashville. Sophie was one of the models picked by Audrey Woulard Photography. I was thrilled to find out that they did not live far from me and I could maybe have a chance to capture her again.
I am SO excited for 2014! I have new packages, new packaging, and amazing products to offer to you! This year your session will not just sit on your computer, it will be displayed so you can enjoy it every day!
Do you ever feel like people are brought into your path here on earth for a reason?
Do you ever question doing something nice for someone, or do you just do it with out even thinking about it?
Jake needed one picture for the school yearbook.
I remember when my boys were little, my husband and I would spend hours at the store buying Power Ranger and Star Wars toys, and countless hours putting them together on Christmas morning.
I'm a mom, a wife, work full time at a hospital and on my days off from all of that I capture people :) Whew that made me tired to typing it.
I often look for people to capture just for fun. Just for me.
The other night I surprised my son at his baseball game. While I was waiting for the game to start I felt this tap on my shoulder
It's been a long winter here in Tennessee. Well maybe not THAT long but I am a sunshine shorts T-shirt windows down on a sunny day kind of girl so the winter can seem to last forever.
I am blessed...
I am blessed with the most amazing parents...
I am blessed to have amazing parents that taught me how to love and who to give my love too...
It's a new year! New clients and sessions and memories are about to happen at NNP. I often hear from past clients that they were afraid to book hair and makeup for their session because they didn't want their daughter to look different. To look fake.
Meet my sweet, funky, full of energy diva Anna
I met Anna and her mom a few years ago when she set up an appointment to take some pictures of Anna and her sister. I absolutely fell in love with them. There entire family is super sweet and fun.
Ok Trey, yeah he is heart breaker.....
I had no idea how adorable this family was when I booked their session. I usually send a few emails back and forth, we talk packages and price, pick a day and usually I ask if they have a location in mind.
I remember 6th grade perfectly. I remember my best friends, my school, how I loved to wear my hair and even that special boy I had a crush on.
Let me just start by saying I have always wanted to have a girl, and although I am blesssed beyond belief with my two boys, I miss it. I miss playing dress up, and giggling and boys. So when I met Sophie and her mom at a local photography conference I fell in love.

I have known this sweet girl since she was a baby. I lived in Huntsville, Alabama before moving to Nashville, so my boys grew up with Elizabeth and her sister. We celebrated many birthdays at my house and her house. It feels likes yesterday when she was turning 4.
This family is so near and dear to me. I have known the Graves family for years. I have known them way before any of us had children, before marriages and before moving to Nashville.
I often look for people to capture just for fun. Just for me.
Oh sweet sweet Wyatt...what can I say I love this little cutie pie :)
