My goal before I ever took one single picture at this session was to show my niece just how beautiful she really is. I wanted her to see what I see in her and what so many people see when they look at her.
And sometimes saying it doesn't work.
Sometimes you have to show them.
The Beauty. Inside and Out.
Like so many other teens, sometimes they don't see really just how beautiful they are. They are hard on themselves and only see what they can improve. They listen to others tell them they are not good enough.
When I flew home to Colorado this past July to capture a wedding, we decided we would take Amanda's senior's pictures while I was there.
Ok, so first let me just say I love senior sessions, so you can just imagine how excited I was that I could do ANYTHING I wanted to do knowing my beautiful niece wouldn't dare turn me down :)
And she didn't
Amanda is not only Drop. Dead. Gorgeous but she has this soft spoken personality that just pulls you in and makes you want to know more. I always tell my sister that she has this old school vibe and personality about her. I just love that.
So of course I wanted to not only do a regular senior session, but I wanted to go a little vintage. So what better way to do that than with an old car.
So my brother in law made a few phone calls and we were able to get the exact car I drove in High School for our shoot. Now, the car didn't look anything like when I drove it. It had been completely restored and the man who purchased it agreed to bring it out and let us use it.
Yeah, he rocks!
I can't even begin to tell you how much I enjoyed spending the day with not only Amanda but my sister and mom. We drove all over Montrose and Delta looking for the perfect spots :) There was a lot of drive here, wait slow down, oh turn here, STOP, give me one more second.
I am pretty sure my mom and sister thought I was nuts...well until they saw the end product.
Amanda Nichole Countryman I love you so much. I hope when you feel like your not good enough, or pretty enough you will pull these pictures up on your phone and remind yourself that you are.
That you are beautiful.
That you are special.
That you are amazing, just like you are.
That you are loved.
Nothing else should matter.
I love you to the moon and back~ Aunt Noreen
Oh and let me add, she did her OWN Hair and Makeup...yeah she's hired!

Are we not ADORABLE :)
